ABA Tutor
Job Description
As an ABA Tutor at ABA Sheffield Ltd., you will be responsible for delivering personalised curriculums designed to support children with special educational needs and ASD. You will work in various settings, including schools, home programmes, and our new ABA Clinic. Your role will be pivotal in helping students achieve their long-term Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and short/medium term individualised goals. The position will be supervised by a board-certified behaviour analyst.
Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Implement bespoke curriculums tailored to each student's needs, promoting both academic and behavioural development.
Data Collection: Accurately collect and record behavioural and academic data daily, ensuring meticulous documentation.
Training & Development: Participate in training sessions on teaching techniques and data collection methods to ensure high standards of practice.
Support in Various Settings: Work in schools, homes, and the ABA Clinic, adapting to different environments and requirements.
Goal Achievement: Assist students in working towards and achieving their EHCP and individualised goals.
Behaviour Management: Handle challenging behaviours with resilience and patience, applying positive behavioural support strategies.
Engagement & Play: Use creative and sensory play to enhance learning and engagement.
Rate of Pay
Hourly Rate: £13 - £16 per hour, based on competency-based assessments and a pay grid system.
Person Specification
Experience: Preferably with children with special educational needs (SEN) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Education: A background in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
Skills
Resilience in managing challenging behaviours.
Patience and empathy when dealing with children's diverse needs.
Creativity in developing engaging and effective teaching methods.
Comfort with sensory and messy play.
Attributes
Strong observational skills for data collection and analysis.
